Yeah I remember Max Payne. I didn't set out in writing this story with that game in mind but now that you mention it, it's probably inspiring me through my subconscious because the feel and vibe are similar indeed.

The reference to Sin City probably comes through that poster we saw everywhere with Jessica Alba. Truth be told, we're looking at a stripper here too ... oops! Spoiler!

I don't want to do something to similar though. I want this to be its own thing. I'm afraid that if I look too much into these sources that I'll probably take too much from them. However it's good to have them in the back of my mind, to get inspired and stay on a different course.

Thanks for the advice!

I don't know why, but often I look at this Bugsy thing and I just can't help but to think of the influence it gets from several popular movie sources. I think it has strong roots in the old-school detective movie genre, but with a more contemporary taste, pretty much like Sin City, Max Payne and some Tarantino movie everybody liked.

I don't know if you played the Max Payne games, but if you didn't, it's definitely worth getting your hands out... the way the story is told and narrated, the characters, the environment and mood are quite resembling, from what I understand, to what you're trying to accomplish.
