The Dreaded “to be continued…”

I didn’t want to have to put it, we all hate seeing it at the end of a good movie or TV show … that damned “to be continued…” in italic … as if to give a sense that things are still moving forward … leaning towards the three points.

So I didn’t put them up but I probably should have, it’s been a long time. Since I last posted on this website, things have really spun around! I got a job, the dog has stopped peeing in the house … mostly. So I should have time to write right? No actually, I’ve been working quite a bit, quite a lot actually. I haven’t been able to sit in front of the home computer in about … I don’t know, since mid august (I’m a little confused these days). So it’s been a sleep/ eat/ shower/ work/ eat/ sleep period. But things are calming down, I’ve just got my week-ends back and nights are starting to open up as well.

The good is that I work in the part of town that inspires me the most for Bugsy. I have to imagine it dirtier, darker, less commercial, less touristic and I see the scenes take place around me, it’s really fun. The old Montreal is really inspirational.

So, if all goes well, I should have time to update Bugsy the Clown very soon, I can’t wait to get back into it.

A Sign of Life

It’s been a long time since the last update, my apologies to all those expecting new parts to show up each and every week.

I’m still alive, it’s just that my girlfriend and I came across this little puppy at a pet shop and couldn’t help but adopt her. So what this means is that I’ve got a little less free time on my hands, keeping an eye on the little thing so she doesn’t pee all over the place. Her urges seem to coincide well with me trying to sit in front of the computer and just as I crack my fingers to type … AH CRAP!

Gotta go …

Ok, I’m back. So, I’ll be taking a little time off the blog, to write and take a decent lead in the story so we’re not neck and neck. This will give me the chance to make sure everything is the way I want it, so I don’t regret posting something I feel isn’t right for the story in the end which came close recently.

I’ll be training my puppy to pee outside, eventually I’ll have a few uninterrupted hours to write and all should be back on track.

So until then, I invite you all to visit the links on the right, there’s some really cool stuff there and before you know it, I’ll be back and most importantly Bugsy the Clown will be!

Yes, I’m still alive!

Hello everyone!

It’s been a busy set of weeks. I still have a lot of work cut out for me and that’s pretty much the way it’ll be until I find a job. I’m learning new softwares, upping my game. Ironically it’s probably when I’ll be working that I’ll have enough free time to work on Bugsy. I wish that writing and drawing these stories on this site was the way I made my living but that’s not the case. Maybe I’ll figure it out someday!

The good news though is that this week I’ll be posting Part 20! Yes, we’re already at that point. I’m quite proud of that actually and the thought that there’s much more to come is something that’s got me excited. Can’t wait to share the story with you all!

Coming up! “The Chase”

   In a few moments I’ll be updating with Part 19 and it’s a doosy! It’s the first major action sequence and it was quite a challenge to write. Everything in Bugsy the Clown being somewhat of an inner monologue, it was tricky to pull off describing a chase through his eyes and keeping the pace active and fast.

   I’ve been going through a roller-coaster these past few weeks, suffice it to say it’s been a rocky ride so I wasn’t able to dedicate too much time on Bugsy. Things may not let up too soon either so bare with me in the times to come, there may be a few delays, we’re neck and neck in the story now, so I’m going to have to hurry and take the lead again.

   I still haven’t forgotten that drawing and idealy I’ll have a layout of the location where the chase takes place posted sometime soon so you all can read and follow on the drawing at the same time! Sounds cool doesn’t it?

   Alright, I’m off to post this thing now, good night and thanks for taking the time to make Bugsy the Clown part of your reading!

Where’s that Drawing?!

Yep yep yep. Been a very busy week for me, things didn’t pan out like I thought. I went job hunting and didn’t have much time to sit down and draw.

Should get to it soon.

   In the meantime, let yourself get immersed in the dark world of Brandon/soon to become Bugsy the Clown.

   This Part 17  I hesitated with, I thought I was pushing a little too far, but I heard an artist say once “If you’re not going to push the envelope, what’s the point in doing something, it wont be original.” Now I’m not saying this is particularly original material (what is nowadays anyways right?) but I’m pushing on my own limits so, I guess that stands for something. Hope you’ve enjoyed the ride so far.

The drawing will be showing up soon, I have some gargantuant work to do on the house and a full week-end ahead so it’s probably safe to asume it won’t be tomorrow.

Back in the Act

I’m back from a refreshing vacation! Nothing like the great wind from a beautiful shore to put one’s mind back on the right track!

First on the list is getting back to that famous game of tag. Now I tagged three fellow bloggers but sadly only one came through in the end. Luckily for us all, her charming response makes up for the others! You can see Morena’s response here.

Secondly, I didn’t forget my promise! Two parts of Bugsy the Clown will be coming this way shortly. Right now I’m a little ahead of the posts, I’m going to have to step it up a notch so that I keep up to the pace! I’m currently writing a chase scene and there’s a lot of planing going into it but I’m really looking forward to posting it! I’ll try to finish up the layout of the location where it all takes place and post it with the segment of the story!

And as for the drawing I talked about, I’m going to try and do a little something different for the fun of it. More on this soon.

Short Hiatus for Bugsy the Clown

Unfortunately there will not be a Storyline Thursday this week as I have been working on my demo feverishly. To top things off, I’ll be gone for a few days visiting some friends and family so I won’t be there for a few days.

To make up for this tremendous lack of entertainment, I solemnly swear to give all you fans a double dose next week! That’s right! Two Storyline Thursdays in one!

And on top of that, I’ll try my best … I did say my best … to post a new illustration by next Friday.

So hang tight and look on the bright side, I’ll be recharging batteries and that’s always good for inspiration!

Voice Acting?!

I’ve done a few voice recordings lately, two for an animated movie and two for a video game prototype and I’ve had a lot of fun doing them! So I figured that in this period of transition that I’m going through in my life, that it wouldn’t be a bad thing to try something new altogether!

Right now there’s only a profile but soon I’ll load up a voice Demo for the entire world to hear … gasp!
